Is your motivational tank running low? Inspirational thought escaping your grasp? Uplifting expectations elusive at the moment? You have come to the right place. You see Monday, in my opinion, is the most important day of the week, and maybe the hardest, to get and stay motivated. I know there’s a school of thought that says to reward yourself after a hard week, after a hard job well done or after a difficult project reaches completion. While that’s all well and good; I think it may be more crucial, motivationally, inspirationally and productively speaking, to reward yourself at the outset. So take a moment and allow yourself some motivational rewards this Monday. You know the week is going to be hard, you know there are tough jobs and projects coming in the week ahead. Most importantly however; you know you are going to crush them! So give yourself that decadent coffee, pastry, the manicure, the massage or the workout that pumps you up for the week. Maybe it’s a few awesome quotes from some highly motivational and inspirational people. If so, here are a few that really fill my tank:
“I believe that one defines oneself by reinvention. To not be like your parents. To not be like your friends. To be yourself. To cut yourself out of stone.” Henry Rollins
Is this not a NOW quote? We have the opportunity today to recycle or upcycle, repurpose, reinvent ourselves, our relationships, our communities, country, world, etc….Let’s get that chisel and get to work.
How about this quote from Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, “Love and desire are the Spirits wings to good deeds.”
As we look forward PC (post corona) let the noise of the media, politicians, advertisers and influencers fade away. You don’t find much love and desire there except for the love and desire for money, power and control. Fill your life with the love and desire for good, for peace and for people.
I’ve really come to appreciate this quote for Anne Frank: “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
Really? One so young and in such dire straits could have a viewpoint that rose above her situation and expressed a deep seated truth that still inspires today.
Need one more? “Yesterday we obeyed kings and bent our necks before emperors. But today we kneel only to truth, follow only beauty, and obey only love.” Khalil Gibran
Checkmate! Let that one sink in. This metaphorically applied to now is earth shaking. No that’s not exaggeration, it’s expectation. The leaders we chose yesterday, let us down. Will we pick up the same failed behaviors or will we, like Khalil, turn to truth, beauty and love to guide us on a far greater path?
Thanks for sharing the most important day of the week, motivationally speaking, with me. Be Well!
