April showers bringing May flowers here where I’m at. I love a rainy day. I get to grab a giant mug of something hot, park myself in a comfortable chair, and get caught up on all the good reads I’ve been writing in my notebook. Today I’m going to take a look at Seth Godin’s Linchpin. Seems like it’s going to be good. I’ve liked his stuff in the past so we’ll see. You know what they say, “A bad day reading beats a good day working”, well that might not be an exact quote but hey it fits today. I guess the best part for me, and why I recommend reading, is that you get to quiet all the outside voices. Those voices fade away and you are left with your own voice offering inspiration, dreams, goals and direction. Your own creativity get’s spurred into action and the seemingly impossible becomes possible. We need this so much right now. We need the best of peoples creativity to be released upon a lost and suffering world. I get the feeling that we are being targeted by all the old mindsets of power and control to get us back into our places of subservient worker bots, garbage producers, drones set out to flood the coffers of a self interested ruling class. Okay the point is, you have so much to give the world if you would just unplug from the propaganda, the diversions and the bold face lies fed to us every moment of the day. Give yourself some time to heed the voice calling out from deep within you to rise up, to separate yourself, to be a beacon shining forth a new and healthy reality that generates love, life satisfaction and wholeness. The best way I have found to let that happen? Read a good book. (In my humble opinion)
“… a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge.”
― George R.R. Martin.
“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”
― Neil Gaiman
“I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.”
― Groucho Marx
